Mexican Polvorones

A traditional Mexican shortbread which is made using toasted flour and toasted nuts, resulting in a wonderfully unique texture.

Polvorones are traditionally served at celebrations, sprinkled with sugar and individually wrapped in paper. They are considered an absolute delicacy and when you've tried one you will find out why. They are so soft and delicate that they simply melt-in-the-mouth, yet the toasted flour gives an almost crunchy feel. They taste simply divine, and are available in three different varieties - pine nut, almond and pecan.

Ingredients: Locally produced fresh butter, locally produced plain flour, unrefined organic sugar, baking powder, pecan nuts / pine nuts or almonds, icing sugar.
