Danish border biscuits
Black & white (actually dark &
light) round crunchy biscuits which are made to a very
old recipe from the south of Denmark.
Each biscuit is almost spherical, approximately
1.5" in diameter. The dark ones have a heavenly
rich chocolate taste, whilst the light ones have a surprising
lemon taste. Stored together from the moment they are
made, they begin to flavour each other very slightly.
This is what makes them so unusual and each batch completely
unique. Two such different flavours which go together
so perfectly.
Tradition states that you must take
one of each colour, each time you try them, and they
would traditionally be served as an accompaniment to
strong coffee.
Ingredients: Locally produced
butter, locally produced plain flour, unrefined organic
sugar, baking powder, cocoa powder, lemon.
